My Burgundy
New, 2nd edition of the guide, 2024
BURGUNDY: AN EXCITING JOURNEY THROUGH THE LAND OF FAMOUS WINE AND CHEESE
In the fall of 2023, I released the first edition of this detailed 120-page online travel guide, available for download in PDF format. In August 2024, a new, revised, and expanded (to 160 pages) edition of the guide was published.
The content of the guide is based on extensive work I did while living here. It summarizes the key insights I gained after spending many months visiting the best wineries and cheese dairies, as well as reading everything I could about this region. It’s also worth mentioning that we have relatives and friends in Burgundy (restaurateurs, hoteliers, sommeliers, and simply people passionate about food and wine), who have shared with me much about this wonderful region.
I’ve traveled extensively throughout Burgundy to pinpoint the exact locations of the most aesthetic spots and castles. I’ve also dined at the most renowned restaurants and seen with my own eyes all the beauty that Burgundy is famous for.

Burgundy is an incredibly picturesque region, with beautiful cities, villages, abbeys, castles, châteaux, and authentic French cuisine. It boasts endless vineyards, orchards in full bloom, and fields of wheat. Its landscapes are colorful, dotted with charming villages, imposing castles, and solemn monasteries, and it showcases masterpieces of ancient Romanesque architecture.
Burgundy offers authentic and non-trivial tourism. Here, you can find luxurious 5-star castle hotels where you can easily feel like a queen or duchess. On the other hand, there are atmospheric medieval guesthouses (with rooms adorably called “chambres d’hôtes”), where you’ll find slightly uncomfortable but cozy apartments with lots of steps and low doorways, leading to a few head bumps.
Burgundy is renowned for its exceptional wines and flavorful cheeses, delectable mustard, and exquisite truffles. It’s the birthplace of famous wines like Chablis, cheeses like Epoisses, Dijon mustard, and the recipe for Beef Bourguignon. Burgundy provides nourishment for both the body and soul, something you’ve truly earned. Here, the unmatchable is perfectly matched. This delightful region should be visited by everyone at least once in their lifetime. It’s only when you’ve been to Burgundy that you’ll truly understand what real France is like and what the French love.
Burgundy is often considered a destination for “retirees, ” according to both the French and tourists. However, I will reveal to you a Burgundy that will captivate even the most seasoned traveler, young couples, and families with small children.
